Dr. Johannes Strobel is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he also serves as Executive Director of the Hopper-Dean Center of Excellence for K-12 Computer Science Education. With a background in engineering education and learning technologies, he has over 20 years of experience shaping pre-college engineering and computer science education. Dr. Strobel has published over 190 papers and co-edited five books, and he has secured over $42 million in research funding. His work focuses on engineering 'habits of mind,' empathy in design, and using cyber-infrastructure to enhance engineering learning.
